Björg Steinunn

Björg Steinunn is a multidisciplinary artist with a degree in Theatre and Performance making from Iceland University of the Arts. She started showcasing oil paintings in 2017 and has had three solo displays in various galleries since then. She draws inspiration from catholic imagery and Icelandic pop culture and is highly influenced by absurdist methods and existential theory. Her first theatre piece Hlutverkaleikur was performed in Tjarnarbíó in 2018 as a result of winning a script competition.

She is not always serious. She has been studying improv and sketch comedy since 2016 and performs with Improv Ísland every week in Þjóðleikhúsið. In 2018 she co-wrote and produced the sketch comedy series Viðundur which will return to the screen in 2022.
